After all, what's a waiting room for...? [Oct. 14th, 2008|08:41 pm]
...waiting, but enough is enough!

It's 8:42pm here and I've only just arrived home. Nothing to do with work though; I left only 12 minutes beyond my official 5:15pm finishing time.

I've just spent two and a half hours waiting at the medical centre for the first available General Practitioner. In the middle of Australia's largest city, just outside of peak hour time.

Next time I'll bring along some scrap paper - it would have been an ideal time to practice drawing.

Around here, you'd still be waiting to get in at 8:42. The side effect of a shortage of GPs in Ontario!

We have shortages of just about every important commodity. Thankfully all the rain we've had this year means our dams are up to an acceptable level, but in all other areas of infrastructure demand is way beyond supply.

This is the mess Bob Carr created BEFORE the economic crisis hit. We are in deep trouble here.
