I never touch alcohol, how can I have a hangover? [Sep. 14th, 2008|11:13 am]
Well that got your attention, didn't it? :P

Seriously, in one of my very typical bouts of insomnia I was still awake at 2:00am last night and I feel like a wreck today. My head wont stop throbbing, my vision is foggy through watery eyes and all my aches from my failing body parts are exacerbated.

At such times I try to cheer myself up, so here's something I found for all those wondering what Batty and I were talking about in the previous LJ post concerning a "Major Bloodnok"

dewhitton said:"OH! Oh oh! Haa haa haagh. It's hell in there.",

The following is an excerpt that if you've not heard it before I insist you listen to. The scene opens with Major Bloodnok experiencing his usual indigestion strife (he eats far too much curry) and then going on to order another curry from his Indian servants. Peter Sellers played both Major Bloodnok, and one of the servants (a role that almost certainly inspired the character Apu in the Simpsons). Spike Milligan played the other servant, and you can hear Harry Secombe in the background unable to contain his laughter.

Bloodnok had a number of memorable catch phrases, one of which was "It's hell in there" usually in reference to something foul or otherwise unpleasant that he wanted to avoid (including occasions that he was describing the turmoil of his own stomach). Sadly I couldn't locate a typical example in a sound file on the net.

Yup... I saw that one, but it wasn't ideal.

I was very hopeful of finding one of the many examples where he leaves the scene of a battle, with gunfire and explosions, closes the door and says "It's hell in there!"
