An unwell foxaroo... [Aug. 12th, 2007|09:10 pm]
Stephan
Hi loyal and much valued fans,

I've just prepared another one of my apology pieces for the automatic upload this coming Tuesday, and you've no idea how ashamed I am of this.  By Thursday evening I'd already prepared all the image renderings, but an interfering virus had other plans for my mental faculties.

I've actually been sick since Friday, but I was hoping to have recoverd by now.  The renderings are all ready, but my mind is so blurry that I can't draw the sketches even half right.

It's about 9:15pm here, and I need to call it a night in order to cope with work tomorrow.  My boss was off sick himself on Friday (yes, he caught it first) and there will be a backlog of tasks to finish on Monday.

Some viruses bother you all day long, whereasothers take teh morning shift and some take the afternoon shift.  This is one that grows worse toward the end of the day.  I could have completed the comic episode in the morning, but there was too much housework and shopping that couldn't be put off (or else I'd have atttended work the next day with sweaty clothing and nofood from which to make dinner).

I sound pathetic and I know it, but this infection is makign me feel bad all over anyhow.

I'll catch up.  I will.  Several months ago it looked like my having a comic at all was a pipe dream.  This foxaroo has some fight left in him yeT!

Much appreciated! Thanks!

I have to head to work now,and I'm feeling even worse still. I'm trying to get my breakfast down and it feels like my stomach doesn't want anything in there.

Lots of sleep, and lots of tea. There's not much more you can do except wait it out. Take care.

Hey thanks Batty! I'm not feeling a lot better, but all this friendly cheer is making a difference to my spirits!

Sometimes, you just get sick.

I'd recommend a good dose of Dramamine if you feel ill before going to bed--it'll take care of the upset stomach and knock you on your tail.

Heh heh! Interesing image considering my fursona... :)

My stomach's not too bad, just that it didn't want to work this morning. The worst part is a blurry, throbbing head.

I'll be sure to get an early night, but right now I AM feeling a little bit better and I'm going to make an attempt at the drawings.

Don't feel bad about feeling off, it happens to the best of us.

I really don't recommend trying to draw if your head's not feeling straight, you'll just end up frustrated.

I sure did, and you're right. I ended up frustrated. I'm just about to post a progress note for tonight.

Hi everyone.

I've just uploaded the first two panels of the episode. There's more to be added to that same episode.

Panel #2 has been a severe dissapointment, after an awful lot of work. When I drew that blast of air issuing from GG1's nostrils it looked much larger on the paper.

Marmoe is quite right, I'm going to have to learn how to use GIMP.

First of all and most important: get well soon.
Secondly, do not be too harsh on yourself - life happens.

I have noticed in your previous post, that the hint at enlarging the renders worked out fine. :-)

Sorry, I have not yet found the time to look for a good Gimp tutorial.

I have managed to tr out GimpShop and it crashed reproducibly on a simple task I tested. Gimp worked fine for the same and from what I have seen the mimiking of Photoshop (the supposed added boon of Gimpshop) did not convince me either. I think you'll be better off with Gimp.

Enlarging the renders worked superbly, thanks Marmoe! And you're right, I will have to advance my expertise to something more sophisticated than MS-Paintbox. :)
