|Lurgi strikes Stephan

[Groan] If things weren't already difficult enough for me, I've come down with a nasty dose of some malignant virus. Ordinarily I'd get a doctor's certificate and take the day off (which would help me get the comic episode done) but the first three days of the calendar month are those that the staff depend on me the most.|
I woke up with a painfully sore throat, but thankfully I drove that infection away with some anticeptic mouth rinse. Unfortunatley I can't be so easily rid of this headache, fever or aches in my joints.
[Groan] Y me?
Oh dear. (looks up "lurgi")
Would laughter be a good medicine or just make you feel worse?
Hmm, too bad time travel isn't practical yet (not that I know what stages it's in), then you'd be able to stay home until you feel better, then go back to work at the beginning of the month.
Ah, well, one can still dream.
Anyway, I hope you feel better real soon and that your work effectiveness isn't hampered by it.
(Posting from work)
Laughter is very good medicine for me right now. I'm still down in the dumps about not being able to attend Ponycon 3.
"Lurgi" -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lurgy
I've arrived for work, found several vital files innacessable because the network is sick too, and that the Senior Manager has come down with the Lurgi himself and couldn't come to work (I don't blame him, he lives all the way up in the mountains).
Due to the backlog of work I'm probably going to be in here until 7:30pm at the earliest. This does not bode well for getting the comic episode finished any time in the next 48 hours. :(
Time to shout "EEEEEE YACKA BOO!"
Heehee!! Did you pick that up from Wikipedia, or the original source? ;)
I remember the original source, but I couldn't remember the cure. I had to Wiki that.
Hmm, the only thing I can say at the moment is to hang in there and learn to relax.
Part of what makes being sick feel bad is feeling bad about being sick.
(wait, did that make any sense?)
Also, it doesn't matter too much if the comic is late, if it's late, it's late.
At least, knowing that you're busy gives me a good enough reason to be understanding if you're late.
>Part of what makes being sick feel bad is feeling bad about being sick. (wait, did that make any sense?)
Absolutely. It ties in with the way the immune system throws in the towel when you become depressed, and the effect is compounded by being sick AND depressed.
I'm one of those people though who's too restless to relax. I do hate taking time off work; keeping busy distracts me from feeling ill. That's one of the reasons I'd work on the comic if I had been home.
Would it amuse you to think that Lurgi is the brother of Super Malario?
Where did you find that? Or is it original?
Happily, it's original. Or at least I thought of it independently.
Drats, and the cure is unavailable to you
OK, have at least a little hammer to knock out the bugs:
Now I know what to give Kathy as a greeting present! XD Funny there was never any comeback from Scooter on the matter...
Thanks for the hammer Marmoe! I wonder if I can use that to knock the bugs out of Moray! (Not Boris, Fly, Speedy and Manny though! ;) )
I didn't get a chance to perform ANY work on the comic. The delay might last until the weekend at this rate... :(
