Kaustic auZzie Notes is updated for 21st August 07 [Oct. 20th, 2007|03:45 am]
Stephan
And now the long awaited update (sorry for the unplanned hiatus), and one reason to keep the Lyons Publishing forum alive:

http://sauerpuss.anobviousdistraction.com/d/20070821.html

You can immediately see by the number of objects present in these images why this took so long to assemble.

The good news is that most scenes further ahead are not so complicated, and I should be able to produce the comic more smoothly (and my skills are greatly improving). The further good news is that there are several more episodes that use this particular scene before moving on in the story.

The BAD news is that these scenes don't run consecutively, and I have several more complicated objects to design before I can complete the next episode.

Incidentally, it's 03:46am here in Australia - I was going to get this episode completed at all costs!

Time to ZZZZ now! :)

You need to put a link to the forums on the comic page.

I have an eager volunteer who is looking into that for me... which is a very good thing because I haven't a clue how to alter the HTML myself. :(

Once I manage to get another stable connection to anobviousdistraction.com I'll have a look at it.
Darn it when that happens...

I'm glad you skills are improving, that will make things easier in the long run, and I'm sure that you'll be able to translate your skills with Morray onto another 3D modelling tool if ever you wanted to work somewhere in the 3D graphics field.

Sometimes the cost of doing something at all costs is more expensive than we realize...

Bother! I didn't know there were problems accessing the site. :( I could put the strip into photobucket, but that's something I wouldn't be able to make a habit of.

I just grew fed up with fate playing these endless dirty tricks on me. Missing out on teaching English in Japan because they'd changed the law only two months earlier, missing out on moving to Adelaide because OUR government had changed the law affecting temp workers, being unable to move home because of a city wide (now nation wide) housing crisis, and then... well you know the story with Ponycon.

When I arrived home at 8:30pm or thereabouts last night I said "NOT THIS TIME!" I was prepared to go without sleep for 48 hours. It was difficult becuase fatigue was hindering concentration, but to my own amazement I haven't slipped up anywhere so far as I can see.

:( What am I doing wrong with these HTML tags?

You have some tags working, like the quote blocks; the ones that are broken open with "<>" instead of "<".

Progress, on a personal or a racial level, usually doesn't happen because of a momentous abstract decision. It comes when some poor bloke is sick and tired and pissed off and decides to do something about it. ;) Carry on, o Foxaroo!

Thanks for the link, for some reason I haven't been able to access it from home, but while on campus, it seems to work.
Weird...

Teriaki Foxaroo?
Wouldn't that be ground foxaroo?

Weird...", indeed. :-)

JamesB posted a message explaining that there had been a general failure with the ISP in NorthWest Brisbane.

Well, Teriyaki (which obviously I've never eaten) is described in the dictionary as "a dish of grilled slices of beef, chicken, or fish that have been marinated in soy sauce seasoned with sake, ginger, and sugar." Leaving aside the additional ingredients, the description of the meat fits; becuase the augur (the rotating machine ahead of Michael & GG1) is slicing the scrap metal into small strips.

Foxaroo Teriyaki simply sounds more amusing than Ground Foxaroo anyhow.

Now I'm waiting for the backlash when Kathy pulls me up for that description, but I DID say the opening to my comic was going to be dark. I can assure you though that nothing happens to either of them (not at this early stage anyhow ;) )

There appears to be a problem with the anobviousdistraction server, so just this once I've uploaded the image to photobucket in order for people to be able to view:

Server seems to be up again.

Looks like the two are in quite a mess. "Analyze quickly", indeed. :-)

Quite "a mess" *snerk* That works on two levels! :)

Yeah! :) I've been waiting years to use that dialogue sequence. It draws the readers' attention, and the closing part of the sentence (in the next frame) identifies Michael as a foxaroo, and GG1 as being primarily composed of stainless steel.

I had to find something clever. Helix wasn't around to shout "Doggy!" so that Michael could explain "I'm not a doggy, I'm a fox/kangaroo hybrid!"
